Story:
Venice is one of those cities that rewards you for getting lost. If you have some extra time (why wouldn't ya?), buy some gelato, bring a map for comic relief, load your camera, and simply start walking. This photo was taken the first time I visited Italy in 2001. The plan was to stay up all night rather than renting a room. The outcome: I packed a weeks worth of traveling experience into one night- that's "budget" traveling.
