Story:
Between the low and high tides, the water would either come right up to the coastline (as seen here) or go so low that all is left is a muddy path out to sea. Wanting to capture the high tide during sunrise, I woke early and headed out to check out the scene and was very pleased to have done so. I was also very pleased to eat some breakfast shortly thereafter.
Technologies:
35mm, travel alarm clock
Project:
Part of a series of travel posters, calendars, stock photography, and other fine-art products.
Challenge:
Stabilizing the shot for the low-light situation without a tripod, a situation I find myself in quite often while trying to travel light. The solution: an on camera timer, a solid object to rest the camera upon, and objects like my wallet, rocks, or anything else to prop underneath to adjust the tilt.
